Wired Journalists

Get wired to win.

I've been using the live video broadcasting service www.ustream.tv for a couple of months now to livestream the media discussion events we put on at the Frontline Club in London I highly recommend it.

As far as I can tell, compared to similar service like Yahoo Live! and the mobile tools Flixwagon and Qik, it is the only one you can attach an external camera too - we have two cameras fed through an Anycast - and then fed live to ustream.tv. I believe it also the only service you can embed the livestream into any blog, website, socnet like Facebook - and not just an embed of the subsequent recording.

Theoretically, you could be broadcasting live on 100's of blogs, websites, within Facebook and on TV simultaneously. We've tried it across 10 sites simultaneously and it has worked flawlessly. You can also embed the chat box in the same way.

Very powerful free tool that I've yet to see newspapers using, not sure why. The Frontline Club channel is here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/frontline-club
