I've been writing for a few music mags and miscellaneous publications the last few years now and I want to start using the interview material I get to write separate articles for a new blog I intend to start.
Would this be infringing on my companies copyrights in any way? More importantly, would I have to tell the artists, when setting up the interview, that it might show up in 2 places, but in different articles? Or, is this like blogging a beat?
Publicists don't care much for bloggers I've noticed, especially when they ask for circulation numbers and hit counts on websites. I would hate to have an interview killed because they don't want it showing up on a blog they have no bridge to burn with.

As a freelancer or staffer, your work belongs to the people paying you within the limits of your contract. They would be pissed off to see you write an article for another publication from the interview you were doing on their nickle ... a blog is the same. Sort of. I guess. (Heck, who knows, really?)
How about this point of view: Is your blog valuable enough that you're willing to have it potentially piss off the editors who provide assignments?
