I am currently an intern at the Daily Herald's bureau in Springfield, Ill. An editor, another reporter and I are stationed in the Capitol, covering the day-to-day happenings in state government. My internship is through the University of Illinois-Springfield graduate program in public affairs.
Last summer I interned at the Columbus Dispatch in Columbus, Ohio, where I worked for both the city and state desks. While in Columbus, I covered a variety of assignments ranging from enterprise, features and hard news.
I also interned as an editorial assistant at AARP The Magazine in Washington, D.C. through the American Society of Magazine Editors' internship program. AARP The Magazine is the world's largest circulating magazine with 23.5 million copies being distributed worldwide.
I am also the former two-time editor of Kent State's student newspaper, the Daily Kent Stater. I am one of only a handful of two-time editors. Under my tenure, the paper and its affiliated Web site both won Pacemaker awards.
Sad statement about my Internet obsession: I saw you had joined WJ on the twitter feed for Wired Journalists. (http://twitter.com/wiredj/statuses/826252692)
