Michelle Ferrier is the managing editor for online community hubs at MyTopiaCafe.com, a project of the Daytona Beach News-Journal and a columnist for the newspaper. She is reponsible for editorial development, marketing, community partnerships and technology development. She is a scholar/practitioner/entrepreneur in new media, particularly online communities, online learning and digital identity. Michelle is a former assistant professor of mass communications and earned a Ph.D. in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida. She is developing a social networking platforms that allows users to create a digital identity object embedded with stories, photos and other multimedia content. The technology is revelant not only to news organizations, but to larger knowledge management initiatives. Increasingly, as blogs, wikis and other Web. 2.0 applications emerge, identifying the source of posted content become paramount. A rich, digital identity object provides the context to content on the Web.

Ha! That was the first thing I took care of when I got back;-) I just joined recently, but I'm still at a loss as to how to answer the most basic question..."How is my site doing?" www.mytopiacafe.com. Because everyone is so hush, hush on their metrics, I can't really tell what are reasonable numbers of users, page views, response, etc. to expect on the site. So I'm hoping this may be the place for REAL heart-to-hearts;-)
